The Hot-Air Balloon Festival Arosa 2012 is the meeting place of 15 hot-air balloons. The very experienced pilots take advantage of the exceptional winter climate in the Swiss Alps. Skiers can hear the slow «breathing» of the balloons in the multicoloured sky above them.

Der «Kalur» (benannt nach dem sowjetischen/estnischen Kolchos, in welcher das Fahrzeug konstruiert wurde) war ein Hybrid-Fahrzeug mit Ural M-72-Motor in einem M-72 Rahmen. Gemäss den Konstruktionszeichnungen in der sowjetischen Zeitschrift «Моделист-Конструктор» wurden die Räder des «Kalur» ersetzt mit Skiern (160 bis 180 cm) und einem Schaufelrad (82 cm Durchmesser). Der «Kalur» fuhr im Schnee bis 60 km/k schnell.

Gestern hat es in Arosa einen Moment nicht geschneit. Muss ja auch mal gesagt werden… das Schneetreiben geht aber weiter: Die Meteorologen rechnen heute nochmals mit beträchtlichen Neuschnee-Mengen bis 70 Zentimeter. Damit sollen in Arosa am Montag vier Meter Schnee liegen. Eine Ural kann das nicht bremsen!
