Die Fotoreportage von Heinz Stephan Tesarek (publiziert in NEWS 1/2011) über die Präsidentenwahl 2010 von Alexander Lukaschenko in Belarus wird mit dem Österreichischen Preis für Pressefotografie 2011 ausgezeichnet. Die Wahlnacht und damit die Reportage endete tragisch: «Hunderte Männer stürmen den Platz (in Minsk). Sonderpolizisten – schwarz, vermummt, hemmungslos. Sie prügeln auf alles ein: Alte, deren Kinder, deren Enkel. Sie hämmern auf ihre Metallschilder, treiben die Menge auseinander, verfrachten Hunderte in LKW zum Abtransport in die Gefängnisse. Fotograf Heinz Tesarek brechen sie den rechten Zeigefinger, Präsidentschaftskandidat Sannikow liegt blutend im Schnee. Das Handynetz wird heruntergefahren, die Internetverbindungen gekappt.»

St. Petersburg Ska-Jazz Review ist eine Band, die Ska und Ska-Jazz mit Elementen von Swing, Reggae, Funk und Rocksteady spielt.

St. Petersburg Ska-Jazz Review holen ihre Inspiration aus den 1940er bis 1960er Jahren. Ihre Vorbilder sind Louis Jordan, The J.B.s und die Skatalites, die als Erfinder des Ska gelten.

Die Band setzt sich zusammen aus Musikern der legendären St. Petersburger Bands Leningrad, Spitfire, Markscheider Kunst - und der amerikanischen Sängerin Jennifer Davis.
